The Woodworking4Home site offers a large collection of carpentry project blueprints. It has over 14,000 plans with over 100 different categories. If you like to make furniture items yourself, the blueprints will keep you busy for years.
In this article, I will do a review on one of the harvest table plans from Woodworking 4 Home. The first time I opened the plan, I was amazed by the quality. The pictures of the finished product is really high quality.
The design is a table drop leaf that is engineered for 2 to 20 persons. The recommended material for the panel is cherry wood.
The harvest table features drop leaves that are supported by spinners cut into the aprons. The leaves are 31" wide by 8" long on each side.
Inside the blueprint, you'll see detailed diagrams where the individual parts are showcased with precise measurements.
One section was totally dedicated to making the spinner support of the drop leaves. There are step by step instructions showing you how to cut the joint and spinners, apron assembly, slide support and swing arm.
The following section is on routing the table top and leaves. This is a very delicate process. Luckily there is a detailed rule-joint inside the blueprint.
Generally, making the harvest table will require some skill. If you are new to woodworking, making it on your own will be quite a challenge. Unless you are an experienced carpenter, completing this wood project will take a couple of weeks.
Generally, the harvest table plans from Woodworking4Home is very comprehensive. However, it is not recommended for novice. Nonetheless, if you like the challenge of making a complicated home furniture, the blueprints will keep you busy for couple of weeks.
